Descriptions The Belford Ferry Terminal is located at the end of Harbor Way, which runs parallel to Main Street in Belford. The Terminal is a docking point for ferries, which transport approximately 1,100 commuters to and from New York City each weekday. The ferry service is operated by NY Waterway, a private company based in Weehawken, NJ. Ferry service from Belford Ferry Terminal began in 2002 as part of a county project designed to simultaneously provide services to residents and vistors and reduce traffic and conjestion on local and regional roadways. There are 1,000 parking spaces at the Terminal site, plus additional off-site parking. As part of Monmouth County's Dock and Roll Program, a free, 15-minute shuttle bus runs between the Middletown Train Station and the Belford Ferry Terminal. The ferries run from Belford Ferry Terminal to several sites in the New York City area, including Midtown/West 39th Street, Pier 11/Wall Street, World Financial Center and Paulus Hook/Jersey City. There is a cafe located inside the terminal, which is open from 5am to 10am. |
